365 days, full of joys and sorrows, and in a glimpse of eyes, 2005 had passed, and we’re welcoming the new, spiritly-uplifted-for-all year of 2006 (well, at least for me)
so, what u guys doing in the eve of new year? (really love to hear ’bout it)
me……well, usually I dont regard new year as an "obligated" celebration. But since I live here in Russia , where New Year is the only meaningful celebration (especially for a country which have "Mezhdunarodniy den KBN")..I decided I might celebrate it as well.
So off I go, I planned a new year get-together party for me and 5 of my closest friends. I had long wanted to witness by myself the catchy fireworks being ignited in the Main Square of Pabshikh Barsov when it’s 12 o’clock, but never had the chance..For 2 years I stay quietly in my room, for the doubt that I might be beaten by the drunken Russian whom faithfully celebrating all their celebration with alcoholic beverages…
But this year, it need to be different. So we decided to go..but, just in case..we book a hotel nearby Walking distance from the square…Iyerlah..at least kalo kene kejar pun smpat lari masuk hotel

Hotel Volgograd (claiming themselves as the Best Eastern Hotel)
I still remember that last year, all the shops are closed during the eve..so, we packed with us some food ("well, we need to rephrase "some") and headed to check in around 4.30 p.m.Its already dark though. We had our maghrib prayer, and then headed out for dinner.Lucky for us, the nearby joint is still open, surprisingly with lot of vacancies.

Dinner at the joint - Grand Pizza
After dinner, we took some photographs, and then headed back to our room, and playing games (u dont want to know) to spend time waiting for Kremlevsky Kuranti to strike 12.
20 minutes to 12′..we lead ourselves to the freezing open space of Pavshikh Bortsov. The crowd is already heated with alcohol (yuks!!) and fireworks being ignited here and there..so we decided its better to keep our distance. 5 minutes from 12′ the President address the countrymen (and women) with the same text he read last year
and then…
DONG! DONG! the Kremlevsky Kuranti strike 12, and the Russian National anthem was played (u know, the longest national anthem, yet without any lyrics)…by the time the song finished,I could barely held my camcorder..it was fuckin’ freezing..the temperature was -8 degrees for God sake!!
The main fireworks was ignited and yes, it’s a spectacular view..
‘Yolka" ..at minus 8 degrees
Couldnt hold on the freezing any longer, we returned to our room, from where we enjoyed the scenery of party downstairs from the comfort of our balcony. Then we just talked about our wishes and hope, and lot of other stuffs, while watching TV and munching on foods, till its 4 a.m. The cliche thing was that we rented 2 rooms for that night, but after all the munching and chatting, everyone is too lazy to leave the spot, so all of us crammed inside the one room…6 peoples for 3-persons room..well, u can guess how it looked like…
After all, from our talks that night, I learn a lot about my friends, and about myself too. I hope it will somehow help me for my journey throughout the year 2006…
I’ll take this year as a period full of surprises and challenges in my life. I want to travel more, read more, know more, confront more…and etc. And suppose my theme this year would be "LIFE IS A PRIVILEGE"…(although "SEKANGKANG KE HADAPAN" is still under consideration
Wish I’d have a lovely year, and I wish that for all of you too…
