10 wonderful things about Prague

At the compound of Prague Castle. The Statue of St Wenceslas, the Patron of Prague

1.    Prague in its modern day, is the capital city for Czech Republic. While in its older time, it is the seat of well=known Bohemian empire. It is the only capital city in the world which since it ancient time, had never being shifted around. Thus, the same seat that the Czech President is sitting on now, is the same seat being used by the Bohemian Kings.

2.    The Czech called Prague as "The Mother of all city"- this is visible under their pre-historical Coat-of Arms, inscribed in Latin as Mater Urbium. This might be the reason for the whole city to be declared as WORLD HERITAGE SITE by UNESCO.

3.    For Muslim travellers, u might want to book an apartment with a kitchen, since it is hard to find halal-prepared food here.

4.    Prague’s people are friendlier than their Eastern European counterparts in Moscow. But then again, who’s not??

5.   If you fly from Moscow, do try the Czech Flag carrier-CSA. You might want to avoid Aeroflot, not only to save your pocket, but your ear as well. Imagine a 3 hour flights with a group of drunk, visible-pot-belly russians making noise the whole way…got the picture????

6.    Public transport is amazingly efficient and cheap. While most of the places is withing walking distance, yet to take a tram round the city could be a memorable experience.

7.    Foods…hmm….well-known for cheap Beers, and good wine…ur..suckling pig..uh, couldnt try any of it..

8.    Recreation? try a cycling-boat along the Vltava River, canoing, or even cycling around Prague. I had enough of that :)

9. Souvenirs, Bohemian crystal is the best, but there’s also nice looking mug and wooden toys. You might want to skip buying key-chains. Apparently there are so expensive that u can get a t-shirt for that price!!

10. A relatively new place , Nove Mesto is actually founded hundreds of years ago. It is known that the Americans had taken the development plan and ideas as their foundation for planning new modern city of New York and LA, yet refused to pay for the idea. The Czech had long forgiven them..

10 Things about my trip

Olympianstadionberlin2
at the olympiastadion Berlin..yeah, the final WC match was held here!!! date taken : 9/7/2006

I suppose the last time I wrote
my travelogue, its kinda boring. Of course, I wondered myself, who gonna spend
his 2 hours bugging his eyes into a monitor while trying to read somebody else’s experience ??? And by
the way these travels are far from those Israk Mikraj travelogue, so I guess
mine is a lil’ bit tripped from those Holy Trip to the 7th Sky

But, as I’m a talkative, and I’d
sleep uneasy knowing that no one had the chance to burn their ears (or eyes)
listening (or reading) about my travels, I decided to still write a travelogue,
but in a shorter form. You know, kinda those lecture notes you got from your
biochemistry department (Sometimes its too short it doesn’t make any sense at
all)..uh that was during my time..

Ok..so shall I start here..

10 General Points about my
bagpacking travels:

1. It suppose to be a two-week
journey
: starting from 3rd of July till 11th of July

2. The itineraries
are :

a.

Volgograd

(I don’t consider this as included in my plan actually)

b.

Moscow

(shitty place)

c.

Prague

(
amazing!! Aren’t all European cities are just amazing??mind you

Moscow

is hardly

Europe

at all)

d. Breclav ( apply only for me, apparently went there to meet some ol’ friend whom I met only once
in my lifetime.

e.

Berlin

(cool places!! And its World Cup season in here!!)

f.

Prague

(on
our way back actually)

g.

Moscow

(shitty place, again..)

h.

Dubai

(what
the??? We don’t even knew we need to transit here)

i.

Karachi

(uh..I felt like I’m going to constipate)

j.

Kuala Lumpur

(home at last!!)

3. Transport types
that we embarked on:

a wide selection of flights (Aeroflot
–in which I left my mobile phone for good,CSA-Czech flag carrier), Eurolines
bus, I got myself a day-trip in Eurocity train, tourist boats and buses,
metros, trams, S-Bahn? U-Bahn? BICYCLES, and uh..apparently our two precious
lower limbs”

4. The tour group
members
are:

a. Me

b. Safwan (my groupmate)

c. Sdar (Safwan’s roommate)

d. Ruzana (Sdar’s groupmate)

e. Atak (Ruzana’s little-less-than-husband-companion)

f. Our luggages……….

5. The BAD & MISERIES things before we reach

Prague

:

a. I left my mobile phone in Aeroflot during volgo-moscow
flight

b. I went from places to places to get sympathy and
perhaps, my mobile back

c. I was told “fuck off” by the airline officers

d. I was told “zero shansov (chance)” by the woman working
in the lost & found

e. The militia (police) is actually a mafia trying to rob
me even when I try to walk towards them

f. We haven’t got our confirmed flight tickets to

Kuala
  Lumpur

yet

g. So suddenly my ATM card broke

h. The KL ticket price increased up to 1000 USD

i. I had a bad headache during the flight

j. As usual, we’re being detained by some stupid Russian
passport officer who didn’t know the status of Malaysian citizen trying to
enter Czech, and even worse, didn’t have any mechanism to check it out..

k. I lost all my useful simcard, including the Maxis one

l. I couldn’t remember anyone else’s phone no, except my
dad’s

m. My dad is the last person on earth I would like to tell
that I clumsily had left my phone in the airplane

n.

6. The GOOD THINGS before we reach

Prague

:

a. One of the Lost & Found woman admits (at last!!)
the Russian super-bad behaviour of being coy & the probability for a
Russian waitress to return a mobile
phone she’d just found under the seat is normally 0%. If she did returned it,
she’d be kicked out from her job for “the
lack of capability to think like a true Russian”

b. My maybank2u account is still working

c. Safwan agreed for me to bug in into his account (sorry
for the trouble mate!!)

d. I’m less worried about Zana seing that she was
well-guarded by her..ahem…

e. I love Sdar’s outfit … and those jealousy eyes that
Safwan and I had been giggling about during our whole journey

7. FOODs:

We plan to
bring some instant noodles, which apparently helped a lot. Zana did “a lot” of
cooking in

Prague

since we had our
own kitchen, and food is not that hard to find in

Berlin

&

Prague

8. LANGUANGE:

I couldn’t find
the time to study Czech & German language, so we head up with tongue
twisted English-russian-malay language, and a lil bit of Javanese
pronounciation

9. BUDGET:

I’m totally out
of budget

10. OUTFIT:

I didn’t buy
anything new , but u should see Sdar in his glamorous outfit J
and safwan too….
